If you visit or browse silocleaning.co.uk, send information through it or make any other use of it, these Terms of Service apply to you. The site is operated for Silo Cleaning Services. Using it, making an enquiry or asking for an introduction to a supplier means you agree to these terms.
About Silo Cleaning Services
This website is operated by Silo Cleaning Services. Our contact address is Suite 114b Business First, Davyfield Road, Blackburn, Lancashire BB1 2QY.
This website lets customers describe their silo cleaning requirements so that Silo Cleaning Services can introduce the enquiry to a supplier or third-party company that may be able to assist.
Who carries out the work
Silo Cleaning Services acts as a connector. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, none of the following is done by us:
- operating plant or equipment;
- transporting waste;
- attending site as the appointed contractor;
- carrying out the physical work; or
- providing regulated silo, tank, cleaning, drainage, disposal or industrial services ourselves through this website.
The appointed supplier is responsible for its own method statements, risk assessments, equipment, staff, vehicles, licences, permits, insurance, site attendance, work quality, advice, quotations, consignment documentation, waste transfer documentation and aftercare. Before you give a supplier instructions, you should check its terms and its credentials.
What happens after I send a silo enquiry?
On the website you will find general service information, enquiry forms and routes for contacting us. Once you send details, we may review them and pass the enquiry on to a third-party contractor, supplier or service provider that we believe may be a suitable fit for the work you describe.
We make each introduction using the information we have at that point. We do not guarantee:
- that any price a supplier quotes will meet your expectations;
- that the job gets done within a particular timescale;
- that a supplier will take the job on; or
- that a supplier will be available.
Enquiries, introductions and fees
Sending an enquiry and being put in touch with a supplier come at no cost to you as the customer. We may receive sales income, marketing fees, referral income or commission from third-party companies or suppliers. That arrangement does not add a website-use fee for you.
Supplier quotations and contracts
Supply contracts, service contracts, site visits, call-outs, bookings, orders, estimates and quotations are all between you and the supplier, unless we expressly state otherwise in writing. Before you authorise work, you must read the supplier’s own terms and agree to them.
The supplier you appoint has control over additional work, permit requirements, disposal routes, waste charges, cancellation terms, minimum charges, emergency call-out arrangements, attendance windows and prices. Should the scope change once the supplier has reviewed the site, the supplier may alter its quote or turn the work down.
My silo problem is urgent. What then?
Our usual hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm. For emergency work we may also be available out of hours, where a suitable supplier is able to respond. Submitting an emergency enquiry does not guarantee immediate attendance. Until a supplier gets back to you, you should take appropriate safety, environmental and site-control steps.
Information the supplier needs
Anything you tell us or a supplier must be accurate, complete and current, and that is your responsibility. This includes:
- confined-space concerns;
- height or lifting constraints;
- hazards;
- known contamination;
- access limits;
- the waste description;
- quantities;
- photographs;
- drainage layout;
- the site address; and
- any deadline affecting the work.
Once a supplier has been introduced, it will need information to assess the job scope, environmental risk, health and safety and site access, and you must give it that information. It may include induction requirements, site-specific rules, Safety Data Sheets, waste codes, permit information, tank or drainage plans, previous survey results, parking arrangements and photographs.
Suppliers may decline to proceed where there is a safety concern, where required documentation is missing, where the work is outside their competence, insurance or permissions, or where conditions on site differ from the information provided.
Rules for using the website
You must not submit anything false, misleading, unlawful or abusive. The same applies to confidential third-party information you have no authority to share, and to any information you lack permission to share. You must also not use the website in a way that interferes with its operation or tries to gain unauthorised access to systems, supplier information or data.
Limits of the information on this site
What you read here is general service information. It is not regulatory, insurance, tax, waste-classification, health and safety, engineering, environmental or legal advice. Where the job requires it, you should get advice from the appointed supplier or a competent professional.
We aim to keep the information clear and useful, but we do not promise that each page is complete, current or suitable for every site. Operational requirements, supplier availability, guidance and laws may change.
How suppliers are selected
We may decide from the details you give which supplier appears a good fit for the job. That decision is no guarantee that the supplier is the cheapest, the best for every circumstance or the only suitable supplier. You remain responsible for deciding whether to instruct it.
Independent suppliers
Suppliers are independent third-party businesses and are not employees of Silo Cleaning Services. We are not responsible for a supplier’s regulatory compliance, waste handling, loss, damage, work quality, staff conduct, pricing, documentation, advice, delays, omissions or acts, unless the law says we cannot exclude that responsibility.
What if I am unhappy with the supplier’s work?
If an issue arises after you instruct a supplier, you should raise it with that supplier directly, as soon as possible. Looking into and resolving issues connected with its aftercare, work, attendance or quotation is the supplier’s responsibility.
Our legal responsibility
Where it would be unlawful to exclude or limit liability, we do not do so. This includes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, our role is limited to operating this website and making introductions where appropriate.
Disputes, losses, delays, damage, costs or claims arising between you and a third-party supplier after an introduction are not our legal responsibility. That includes cases where they relate to the supplier’s service quality, payment terms, contract terms, attendance, advice or work.
Could the website or enquiry forms stop working?
We may, at any time, change, withdraw, suspend or update any part of the website. There is no guarantee that the supplier-matching process, email routes, telephone lines, enquiry forms or the website itself will always be available or uninterrupted.
What do you do with the details I send?
If you send an enquiry, we may use the information in it to reply to you and to introduce the enquiry to a suitable supplier. Our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, both linked from this website, say more about personal information.
Website content and ownership
The relevant rights holder owns, or holds a licence for, the logos, branding, design, text, page layouts and other materials on this website. Viewing and printing pages for your own internal decision-making is permitted. Copying, scraping, republishing, selling or reusing substantial parts of the website without permission is not.
Could these terms be updated after I read them?
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies is the latest one published on this page at the time you use the website, and if you keep using the website once changes are published, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and courts
The governing law is that of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction unless consumer protection law gives you a mandatory right to use another court.
Where do I send a question about these terms?
Questions about this website or these terms can be sent using the contact details published on the Contact page. If the question concerns work a supplier has carried out, go to the supplier directly first: it controls the quotation, the work and the aftercare.
